Save money - just pour water on the floor
PRO: It's very quiet
CON:
1. A full water tank lasts a bit under 6 hours, and the machine has a handy alarm that beeps (and keeps beeping) when the tank is empty. That means you have a rather inaccurate alarm clock that won't let you sleep more than six hours.
But wait; there's more.
2. The vapor from the nozzle on top of the unit doesn't travel very far. In fact, it drops within a couple of feet of the unit. That means you also have a very wet floor. Not damp; wet. We sopped up water with a towel.
I have asked the seller (not Amazon) to accept a return and will try to report here their response.
UPDATE: The seller (Wayfair) will accept the return, though they are making me pay the shipping costs both ways. That's not as good as Amazon's return practices, but not unreasonable for a small firm. BTW, the return is going directly to the manufacturer's (Luna) office in California and the shipment to me came from them as well, so Wayfair...
great humidifier tank not as big as they say
This is a great humidifier. Very Quiet and very easy to use. My only compliant is that it the full tank doesnt really last the 40 hours. I have mine set on a 40% humidity level (which is recommended) and I run it only at night when I sleep. Most of the time night I find it is not running because the levels in my house are around 37%-42% but I still find myself filling the tank after 2-3 days. An alarm goes off when it is empty, which can be annoying if you are asleep so I try to make sure it is filled at all times. That all being said I am still happy with my purchase and helps on those really dry nights.
perfect little humidifier
I got this for my little girl who had a bit of allergy. I didn't like it at first w/ tap water because it would leave white dust all over the place even when I set the thing to warm. Was a bit disappointed and wanted to return it but after a week of tap water, I switch over to distill water and the white dust was gone. I finally switch over to RO water and everything is good.
The sensor is on the left side of the unit and it is true that if you the mist land or get anywhere near it, it could shut itself down because it think the room is humid enough; however, I have turned the spout to the right and away from the sensor, it runs all night and check the room humid more correctly.
There are 3 settings for the mist. The high warm setting, the water will be gone in ~4hrs. But low warm setting, the unit will last the night and a few more hours into the morning. With low cold setting, the water last a bit longer.
after nearly a month of owning this...
